Monday, 14 November, 2022 – Elias is on his way back to Bangkok now, I think. (And I am home, after a short but good trip to Georgia, to see my parents and my sister.)
He texted briefly to say he would call to check in before going to Chiang Mai. He sounds good. I get the impression that he has met some people and been able to enjoy himself, even if the lodgings were not what he expected. He wrote:
“I met a couple French women today who are staying in the room over from me and spent the afternoon/night out with them showing them the beach and some places to go.”
Well, Elias could only be showing other people places to go if he had seen enough himself to recommend. Right? Which means he had a good trip to that part of Thailand. (If I could make a footnote here, I would write something about the generosity of other travelers to share intel about what they experienced. Elias has joined that club of world travelers.)
I feel like I say this every night: I am up late, after a long day, so I am not writing as much as I want to. I am going to post two pictures Elias uploaded and call it a night.
