Monday, 8 August, 2022 – What a first night E had! He got off the bus in Le Sambuc and discovered there was a special tasting event – a party, as he said – at the restaurant. So he ate very well and spent the evening with the folks he will be working with for the next week or so.
E: There’s a big party and I’m getting to eat food at the restaurant which is very cool. I will send pictures eventually.
Me: Woo hoo! How exciting.
E: I have a very good feeling about the farm. I get to use all the produce to cook with, the beach is within use of the bus and 40 minutes away, and the people seem nice. I paid but ate dinner at the restaurant tonight through one of their special tasting menus they were running for an event.
He has the guest house to himself, he thinks. And, “they said there is a high likelihood that if I want to help in the restaurant I can.” Yay! He is very excited about the prospect of working in the kitchen, I can tell.
I will post his pictures for now and leave tomorrow’s post to describe the restaurant and the farm in more detail. The restaurant has a Michelin star! Impressive as that is, if they are a good group of people whom E will enjoy, and who will enjoy him, I am grateful and thrilled. I mean, the truth is, it could be a Pizza Hut and if they like my kid and are nice to him, they are okay by me.
Okay, enough about me. Here are E’s pictures from his first meal in the south of France.
