Travels with E (Day 23)

Wednesday, 17 August, 2022 – It was Elias’s day off today. It appears it rained all day. And may rain again all day tomorrow. He said the WiFi is good so maybe he got to spend a lazy day, napping, eating, drinking wine and watching movies. I don’t know but I hope it was a good day off.

I wanted to write something about how I love that Elias and his sister can be proud of themselves. He recognizes this trip and working in the restaurant, specifically, as the accomplishments they are. I think that is an accomplishment, being proud of himself, as much as the stuff he is doing.

Annika changed the tire on the car a couple of months ago, alone. She texted, “I am so proud of myself!” So she should be, right? I admire that she can say that, as much as I admire the fact she changed the damn tire.

I wanted to write a lot more but I have had a hard few days at work and tomorrow and Friday are going to be hard, too. I am so tired and frustrated, I am on the verge of crying. Not the best frame of mind to write anything useful or interesting. As my mother used to say, “Shit. Shit. Shit.” It was always in triplicate.

I will try again tomorrow.
