Friday, 26 August, 2022 – Elias texted today to tell us he would post photos to Dropbox, adding, without irony, “Sorry been busy the last week.” Yeah, he’s been a little busy, getting from Arles to Paris, spending time with friends, going to Nanterre, getting the hell out of Nanterre, and seeing more of Paris. I think he said they planned to go to the Louvre Museum before they go to the UK. Maybe that was today.
Elias posted two pictures and a video from the farm in Nanterre. The farm’s website pictures evoke a quaint, rustic atmosphere; Elias’s pictures, in contrast, convey the chaos and filth. Kelsey and Ian’s faces say everything you need to know about how gross it was. I’ve watched the 14-second video a dozen times now, just so I can hear them laughing with that sort of “holy shit, can you believe this?” mania in their voices. They are not quite hysterical, but close.
Listen closely and you can hear Elias pointing out the peacock in the kitchen, which doubles as the dining area. The funniest part to me is Kelsey whispering, in a high-pitched squeal, “Where are we?”
