Travels with E (Day 34)

Sunday, 28 August, 2022 – I think I misunderstood how Elias and his friends were getting to London. At some point this morning, my phone showed him in Calais, France. David thinks maybe they took the train to the French coast and then the ferry, overnight, to Dover. I have no information from Elias at this point so all I can picture is The Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. I think this may one of the parts of Elias’s trip which will remain unknown to me, until I see him again.

In any case, Elias, Kelsey and Ian were in London today, I am pretty sure. They are staying at the Generator Hostel, on Tavistock Place, in the center of the city. And, they are a stone’s throw from the Charles Dickens Museum! It’s destiny!

If Elias were reading this post right now, he would be rolling his eyes at me and my excitement that he is mere steps from the Charles Dickens Museum. The only thing better would be if he were next door to the Jane Austen Museum. But he would have to be in Hampshire for that, or the Jane Austen Centre, in Bath.

Here’s a couple pictures off Google of the street where they are staying. I know, I could be wrong, but I still like imagining him there.
