Monday, 12 September, 2022 – As I write this, I expect Elias, Kelsey, and Ian are still asleep, but they will be getting up to go to Amsterdam together tomorrow. Despite being there alone a few weeks ago, Elias seemed to like Amsterdam a lot. So he will enjoy it even more with two friends in tow.
He posted three pictures. I am going to be embarrassed if I did not get this right. I think the picture of Ian and Kelsey is taken on the grounds of Westminster Abbey. The Westminster Abbey website says it is closed now, in preparation for the Queen’s funeral. So where did Elias take pictures of stained glass windows? Does that mean I got the wrong church? Could they have visited more than one church? Maybe they visited St. Margaret’s Church, which is on the same grounds. In any case, here is a link to the Abbey on a map.
I’ve read a little of British history, and I thought there were more members of the royal family buried there. Nope. Just in case you were wondering, here is a website with brief profiles of the people who are buried there. It is handy too, in case you, like I, get your Marys mixed up: Queen Mary I as opposed to Mary, Queen of Scots. Both Catholic, both named Mary, but otherwise, not the same at all.
