Wednesday, 5 October, 2022 – Elias is in Rome today. I talked to him briefly, and he said he is doing fine. He’s feeling better physically and mentally. He has a room to himself in an apartment in a suburb of Rome called Centocelle. It’s an Airbnb and he said the woman who owns it is nice. I found an article about the neighborhood and sent it to Elias. He said the trip from Florence was easy – four hours on the train without any transfers. He went out tonight to see the Coliseum lit up at night.
Before I move on to more description of Rome, for tomorrow’s post, I want to put up the pictures of Florence he sent last night. It looks like he posted more today but I have not had time to look through all of them and figure out whether they are taken in Florence or Rome.
Although he did not partake of the famous Florentine steak, it appears, he did have gelato and pizza. He now has pictures of food from Israel, Spain, Mexico, France, England, Italy, Denmark, The Netherlands, and Germany. He has other sorts of pictures from all those places, of course, but the food features large. And the market I mentioned yesterday? I think Elias was there, if I am interpreting the picture correctly.
