Travels with E (Day 107)

Wednesday, 9 November, 2022 – Elias is on the beach! He’s not as far south as I think he originally planned, but I think he found a place to go that still gets him on the beach without having to fly to get there. The island is populated, not remote, nice but not tourist-y (like South Padre Island tourist-y), based on his research.

He’s on the island of Koh Chang. I mapped it as if he were driving, to get the distance and travel time, even though he did not drive. He took a bus to Trat, the town, and then got on a ferry to ride to Koh Chang, and then walked to his guesthouse. That was his plan, anyway.

Also, he read this blogger’s post about Koh Chang and it was helpful to figure out where he was going and how he was going to get there.

While I am sure Elias will take better pictures than Google Street View provides, I wanted to see what a street looks like on Koh Chang, to contrast to the pictures he’s sent of the streets in Bangkok. Yeah, not in Bangkok anymore.

Finally, before I sign off for the night, Elias sent a link to where he is staying. It’s a guesthouse where he has his own room, within walking distance of the beach. If it is half as beautiful as it looks, I think Elias is going to have a wonderful few days. It is called 3 Trees Guest House.
