Friday, 16 September, 2022 – At 4:00 a.m., Kansas City time, Elias texted David to ask if he’d ever stayed in Cologne. (Just in case you were wondering, David did not respond until 8:00 a.m. Unlike worrywart me, his ringer is silenced at night.) Elias said they were going to stay the night in Cologne, because they could not find any affordable hostel in Munich, their ultimate destination. That was 11:00 a.m. in Amsterdam.
I am not sure if they were already on their way from Amsterdam, but by the time I was up and checking my phone, it looked like they were in Duisburg, Germany. And now, I think they are in Cologne.
David said Cologne is a beautiful place. This is the least advertisement-popup-ridden website of many tourism sites, so I am linking to it, in the hope it conveys something useful about the city. I don’t even know if Elias, Ian, and Kelsey will stay long enough to see anything in Cologne. The city looks nice. And the hostel, where I think they are staying, seems affordable and, if the pictures don’t lie, not disgusting. How’s that for a recommendation? “We’re not disgusting! And sorta cheap!” Gosh, that sounds great. Sign me up.
I am looking forward to going through these pictures with Elias, and finding out it the rooms look anything like this.
