Tuesday, 18 October, 2022 – Elias is in Milan. I am pretty sure that this is his hostel. He has figured out his criteria for a good hostel, I think: close to the train station, front desk that stays open late, cheap but not too cheap, and clean.
He has a friend from University of Denver who has been studying in Milan this semester. I hope Elias will be able to see him but it sounds like his friend – named Eli – is traveling with his parents this week. I am keeping my fingers crossed this detour is good – Milan as a fashion destination is not going to be a big draw for Elias. He appreciates fashion as an art, I think; he likes nice things, including nice clothes and well-designed things to wear. But I am not sure he would have chosen Milan as a place to visit, if he’d not expected to see Eli.
I looked up the neighborhood where Elias is staying and it appears to have some small restaurants, markets, and a bookstore, which is always my favorite way to spend an afternoon. Though, now that I say that, I am always browsing books in English. I am not sure how much time I would spend in a bookstore with only Italian-language books.

You may have noticed on the map a place below Duomo di Milano called Mr. Dick sexy pasticceria. I assumed the name was a result of some funny auto-translation that Google imposed. So, of course, I looked it up. It is indeed a pastry shop and it is most definitely anatomically-focused.
